The ETS Computerized Universal Tensile Tester is the cumulation of years of experience by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of materials testing machines, tensile testing machine and mechanical testing machine. This new tester is designed for a wide range of applications including: bending, compression, tensile testing and peeling using appropriate test attachments which are optional.

The tester offers excellent accuracy and ease of use. It is strong and durable enough to withstand many years of use, yet it has a compact load frame that provides greater flexibility of placement.

Whether you choose the basic unit or add the optional advanced software package, the tester sets the standard in Universal Tensile Testing.

The load cell used in this tester offer one-touch zero adjustment and load cell capacity discrimination guarantees accuracy and speeds the setup process.

Software Package:
The tester offers a host of software features that allows programming of all parameters, operational control and real-time display of the on-going test. This software package allows the operator to conduct a wide range of tests with an almost limitless array of test parameters and displayed test information when used with a PC.

Application :
Universal Testing Machine is designed for testing metals and other materials under tension, compression bending, transverse, brinelland shear loads. Brinell Hardness test on metals can also be conducted using optional test attachments.

Principal of Operation :
Operation of the machines is by transfer of electronic signals of load from the test specimen through pressure transducer to a separately housed load indicator. The system is ideal since it replaces transmission of load through levers and knife edges, which are prone to wear and damage due to shock on rupture of test pieces. 

Load is applied by a hydrostatically lubricated ram. Main cylinder pressure is transmitted to the cylinder of the pressure transducer housed in the control panel. The transducer gives the signal to the electronic display unit corresponding the load exerted by the main ram. Simultaneously the digital electronic fitted on the straining unit gives the mechanical displacement to the electronic display unit. Both the signals are processed by the microprocessor and load and displacement is displayed on the digital readouts simultaneously.The displacement may be read from a linear scale fitted in the loading unit at a reduced price.

Straining Unit
This consists of a cylinder motor with chain and sprocket drive and a table coupled with the ram of the hydraulic cylinder, mounted on to a robust base. The cylinder and the ram are individually lapped to eliminate friction. The upper cross-head is rigidly fixed to the table by two strengthened columns. The lower cross-head is connected to two screwed columns which are driven by a motor. Axial loading of the ram of any possible side loading by the provision of seatings. Manual adjustment of cross-head may be provided at a reduced price.

Tension test is conducted by gripping the test specimen between the upper and lower cross-heads, Compression, transverse, bending, shear and hardness tests are conducted between the lower cross head and the table.

The lower cross-head can be raised or lowered rapidly by operating the screwed columns thus facilitating ease of
fixing of the test specimen.

Control Panel :
The control Panel consists of a power pack complete with drive motor and an oil tank, control valves and electronic
display unit.

Power Pack :
The power pack generates a pressure of upto 600 kgf/cm the hydraulic pump provides continuously non-pulsating
oil flow. Hence the load application is very smooth.

This tester was ergonomically designed to provide a compact, low-cost, functional unit which is quick and easy to operate. It gives extremely high accuracy and yet is robust enough for routine quality control testing. The single and twin column designs permit all-round access to the specimen and grips.

ETS Universal Tester, screw type, motor driven and is suitable for conducting tensile strength & elongation,compression, bend, shear tests on various materials such as metal rubber, plastic, leather, asbestos, PVC, paper, textile, Wire/Cable, plywood/wood, ceramics, rexins etc. in conformity with standards like ISS, BSS, ASTM, DIN or ISO.
